Buffer tubes serve a vital function in the AR15 recoil management system, but why can’t they be more? We took a whole new approach when designing our Enhanced Carbine Buffer Tube by including features like carrier support extensions, position guide drain holes and ramping the design of the tube. These features add reliability, security, and simplicity that traditional mil-spec buffer tube options historically overlook. Specifications for Aero Precision Enhanced Carbine Buffer Tube: Manufacturer: Aero Precision Finish: Anodized Fabric/Material: 7075-T6 Aluminum Gun Make: AR Platform Gun Model: AR-10, AR-15 Condition: New Weight: 4 oz Features of Aero Precision Enhanced Carbine Buffer Tube Carrier Support Extensions – Fully supports and guides the bolt carrier group into the buffer tube after a round is fired, preventing carrier tilt and unnecessary wear on key components. The Carrier Support Extensions also extend on either side of the buffer retaining pin, securing the pin in place while simultaneously preventing the buffer tube from backing out under recoil. Position Guide Drain Holes – Each position guide features a drainage hole that removes water from the system in marine environments. During routine operation, smoother cycling is achieved by allowing additional air to escape during the compression cycle of the rifle. Ramped Tube Design – Allows for effortless installation of traditional carbine stocks. We have removed the need for messing around with screwdrivers to get your furniture over the end of the buffer tube. Simply hold down the adjustment piece and push your stock onto the Enhanced Buffer Tube. Proper Thread Depth – Traditional buffer tubes feature extended unused threads that can cause your stock to become trapped when fully collapsed. While some turn these threads down, we’ve correctly machined the threads to the proper depth, providing a much cleaner look. Mil-spec Dimensions – Machined from a 7075-T6 Aluminum Impact Extrusion to mil-spec dimensions. All standard carbine stock options made to work with mil-spec buffer tube dimensions are compatible with our Enhanced Carbine Buffer Tube. With the additional lip on this buffer tube, you get additional support for your bolt carrier group and smoother operation. This adds additional life to your rifle. There is no more canting as the bolt carrier cycles.

Probably the best buffer tube that I have ever installed. Fits perfectly into the receiver extension and around the buffer detent pin to hold the tube precisely in place while torquing down the castle nut. No overhang to possibly impede the upper receiver from closing down. Stock is perfectly aligned with the bore.

As with most Aero products I've dealt with it worked out great. Made of 7071 and beautifully machined. I put this on my new Aero M4E1 build and it's paired up with a Spikes Tactical ultra light weight castle nut, Magpul CTR stock, V7 Titainium detent, Sprinco Blue spring, Radian qd end plate & Spikes T2 buffer weight. Went on perfectly straight using my Carbon Polymers buffer tube vise block. The extended lip on the front is nice for lining up the detent and using the Sprinco spring there is absolutely no sound when the bolt is released except the bolt smacking into the barrel, no twang afterwards like my other gum. My only complaint is I wish this was a 7 hole buffer tube instead of 6 and I wish they put some numbers on top of the tube like 2A so it's easier to tell what hole your on without looking.

A perfectly functional buffer with some very nice upgrades. I appreciate the beveled cuts, and the notch for the buffer detent built in. The only con I found was the internal surface finish tends to be more "grindy" than some of the other buffers I have. Not a deal breaker at all, as it doesn't effect function in any noticeable way. But a bit more smooth polish would make the feel when charging the rifle nicer. Might wear in over time too, so likely will "fix" itself with use. Again, definitely nothing serious.

Very impressed with the fit, dark black finish, excellent machining work. Have been converting 5 of my lowers to run this tube. Noticeable improvement in smoothness of cycling. Interior of buffer tube (on all 5 I have) is perfectly smooth no ridges. Super pleased!

I’m hooked on piston driven AR’s especially the Primary Weapons Systems (PWS) long stroke piston system. I buy their uppers and build my own lowers to CA featureless compliance. The drawback on piston uppers is carrier tilt in the buffer tube, which can cause jams and misfeeds. Aero’s enhanced buffer tube has a lip that the BCG rides on avoiding carriers tilt.
