I’m building a 308 using and using an Aero M5 lower. There is no mil spec for AR10/308 lowers. Accordingly many of the parts are not interchangeable across platforms. Hence the Aero 308 rifle buffer kit is the perfect choice.

I had built an AR10/308 in 6.5 Creedmoore and it was not cycling with the standard (smaller) buffer and tube. After switching to the Rifle length buffer this problem went away and I was able to then tune the gasblock down and it runs great now.

Buffer looks great condition but Aero quality control not so great any more. I have always defended Aero Precision to compete with the best and their product still does but I was disappointed to see some small gouges that can scratch the buffer! I had to polish with some polish compound to take out the scratches. I even called Aero and they said it’s fine! It’s not something to be concerned about. When I pay money for a part I’m installing on a $2k rifle I expect perfection not good enough
