Precision CNC Machined for billet 7075-T6 Aluminum (not 6061) in an anodized BLACK finish, the BAD-EMR features an unique, fully solid “V” shaped button face with horizontal serrations (no through hole). The concave V-Groove button face offers excellent ergonomic feel and self-centers the index finger as pressure is applied. The horizontal, parallel serrations helps slippage in the vertical orientation while minimizing drag in the horizontal direction for finger retraction. The BAD-EMR also features a lightweight skeletonized back to offset the weight gained from the fully solid button face and slightly increased height to equal the weight of the standard mil-spec magazine release (approximately 0.002 lbs). BAD-EMR is compatible with all lower receivers that accepts mil-spec magazine release buttons. Battle Arms as a company make some pretty solid stuff. So for the price of this it was a no-brainer. It has a great feel and looks good installed in the gun. What I like the most is the spring it comes with. It is about twice as heavy as a normal spring. So if you have a weapon that recoils a little more than your typical 5.56, this will keep your mag from falling out. My 8" x39 would drop mags all the time. Not anymore.

I have several of these. I personally don't like the curved button, as I prefer using flush buttons, but the overall product is superior to the mil-spec catch that comes with lower parts kits. Also, the shorter length of part of the catch that screws into the button is perfect for any billet mag buttons that do not screw all the way through. The finish can vary on these.

Just completed my 50th build and I won’t use any other mag release than this one. Inexpensive, good quality, reliable…what else do you need? Finish has held up on all the builds, even under heavy use. Button design is nice and I like the recessed area on the paddle portion itself. Just ordered several more for more builds.

Purchased this product for an AR-15 build. It was exactly as described and a Great product for the money. I would definitely buy again and recommend it to my friends.Don’t hesitate to buy this item or anything else from Optics Planet.

The magazine release is disappointing in two ways. Its glossy black and the button is too smooth. I dont want shiny and overly slick controls on my ar. I should have sent it back. I m not putting it on the gun i planned on.
