Recently getting on board switching some of my rifles to the A5 buffer system. Have a few Vltor as well as the BCM intermediate tubes and now I’ve tried this one. The length is appropriate. Finish and contour are quite nice. Fit into my SBA3 and SBA4 braces the same way Vltorand BCM do. Only a slight bit of movement which I believe is related to the brace itself. Obviously cost a little more than the six and seven position Vltor tubes although I wanted the anti-rotation feature so that I could use it on a superlative arms piston kit set up to get rid of carrier tilt and replace the PWS buffer tube that is in there. No issues

This is 7 3/4 inch deep which is required for an AR-10 308. It is also made well and a stock like daniel defense fits tight and slides nice. The bolt will Cycle and the bolt catch will work with the extra length.

Found the VLTOR extensions hard to find. The V Seven and Dark Hour Defense units were available. The DHD pice has a great finish and improves the VLTOR A5 RE with anti-tilt lips for the carrier. Great price for a great piece. Would buy again.

DHD is a sister company to V Seven so you know it’s a quality part. Lightweight and a nice finish. This and the V Seven versions are the only enhanced A5 tubes I’ve seen and this was a good deal cheaper. The extended lip is also chamfered instead of a straight cut which is a nice touch. The A5 length of course makes the biggest difference in terms of recoil but the extended & chamfered lip will help stabilize carrier travel a small amount.

Overall very happy with this Reciever extension. PROS: BCG anti-tilt extension, A5 length, nice finish. CONS: slightly small OD (.005” smaller than Enhanced Aero Extension), too many positions adds to loose fit of stock (Magpul CTR, MFT Minimalist, FAB C.O.R.E.), FDE option would be nice.

Dollar to dollar an excellent alternative to the Vltor A5 tube. Has additional adjustment stops that some people may prefer, additional bottom drainage holes help with air/water drainage. Only complaint is due to the squared surfaces on the outside certain stocks, mostly the B5 family, have some wiggle to them. A cheap fix is a strip of loop side Velcro.
