Reduction of recoil is accomplished due to the patented multi-springs and counterweights mechanism. The system produces advanced recoil reduction by gradually slowing down the bolt carrier before stopping in the bottom the tube. Included also are 2 extra buffer springs, 2 counterweight springs and 1 extra heavier counterweight. The user can fine tune the rifle circle and the recoil and further to secure the correct bolt locking. it took me a while to pull the trigger on this purchase: the cost is not an insignificant amount. however, once i received the part and completed the simple install, i was disappointed i took so long. the buffer is presented in a fancy little box with separate springs and buffer weights, allowing one to customize the buffer and at the range, the experience of using the dpm buffer is fantastic. this is the best buffer system available and if you want to take your ar shooting to the next level, this is what you want.as always, well done, dpm. well done.
