I used this safety on a 9mm AR pistol build. I found it to be faster to engage and disengage the safety than the traditional selector switch, especially as a left-handed shooter. The was a nice tactile feel and audible click as you move it from safe to fire and back again, and the red ring lets you see clearly if the safety is engaged or not. I chose the stainless version and it looks great on the gun, a nice accent point above the silver trigger face of my trigger. I liked it enough that I used some stainless accent parts elsewhere too just to give the gun some character. And as for the most important part, the safety performance, with the safety engaged it feels every bit as solid as a selector switch, with no chance of accidental trigger pull.

It's bit of a misnomer as it really isn't ambidextrous. But it is much quicker the old fashion safeties. Would definitely recommend for those living in restricted states when using a grip fin or extended rear take down pin. Only downside was I wish they would make it truly ambidextrous and allow the safe fire action to be reversible.

Should have waited but ended up getting around to installing the selector in another lower sooner than I thought. To be fair, the selector worked fine in an Aero lower with a single stage CMC trigger. So just putting it out there, depending on the trigger it may not work ideally. It’s still a bit stiff going in one direction but I assume over time it’ll break in a bit more and smooth out. Anyway, felt it was only right to come back and give some credit.

I've heard other reviewers state that this product "fixed a problem that they didn't even know that they had." Well then, good for them!I can't say the same though. Is it a good product? Absolutely! Does it work each and every time? You bet! Is it intuitive? Well that depends… If you are new to the AR platform and have only used a cross bolt type safety on other firearms, then heck yes, it is intuitive! However, if you have been training on the AR platform for any significant amount of time (in my case, well over 35 years) then no, it is not intuitive. There will be a retraining window for you with this product. Not a huge retraining window mind you, but a retraining window nevertheless. So yes, I give it 5 stars for quality, price and workmanship. I can't not recommend it under the above caveats. But for this old warhorse, the retraining it would take to make sure that I didn't have to think about it when the going got tough, is not worth the effort for what little (if any) that may be gained.

I picked up a couple of these safeties and dropped them in my rifles a few weeks ago. They are the fastest most convenient safeties on the market today. For rifles without the three round burst or full auto setting – which is basically all civilian rifles – this is a common sense addition to any modern sporting rifle. I love mine and will need to buy a few more to fit on my other rifles!

I purchased this because I have been wanting to try one. The mechanics of flipping a safety just didn’t work well for me. Easy to install and is very intuitive if you’re familiar with shotguns and rifles that have this type of safety. A little lithium grease on the detent and spring before assembly.
