If you are looking for a builder's kit this is for you. stainless hardware is nice. The pivot pin is enhanced with a through hole on the end for easy install. Just slide your spring and detent in grab the small allen key provided depress and turn no other tool needed. The 45/90 ambi safety is a nice addition it is machined tight. And of course the grip this is the aggressive texture original ergo grip and as always is great.

I didn't know what to expect. Never heard of Ergo before. Grip was, well, very grippy. Soft grip but very grippy. I already had a drop in trigger, so the kit provided everything else I needed. Safety lever was better than regular old mil-spec kit.

Okay, perhaps the title is an overstatement as there are so many out there. However, of the others that I've used, this is by far the best and most complete kit.For this to be the case for you, you have to like the Ergo grip. I do. I like it much better than the standard M4 grip and better than Magpul's grip. That said, if you're into the grip, everything else is great. There are two captive trigger pins which is a nice extra. The mag release is tapered towards your finger and has a nice feel to it. It's a little thing, but its nice. The take down pins are tight against the detent. I did find that applying some oil and working them back and forth several times to "wear" them in helped. There is one reviewer that commented on removing the pins being difficult – I don't know about you, but take down pins are captive and should not be removed on a routine basis. You may need to use a cartridge to start the pins out (or a Delrin punch) though.A surprise was the 45°/90° safety. I didn't know I needed a 45° throw safety until I installed this one. The ambidextrous lever is easy to use and the 45° throw allows me to operate the safety on and off with my strong side hand without changing my grip. The safety has detents for 45° and 90° throws. Mine came set up for the 45° throw. To change it to the 90° throw, the selector levers would need to be flipped 180° to allow the 90° detents to be in the proper place. Finally, my lower kit did come with a hex head grip screw and star nut. This is not on the list of included items as was a nice surprise. All of this for a price that is well less than the component parts.

Nice parts and very well packaged. Great lower kit for sure. One problem though. I spent a good half hour taking the grip on and off after I put the ambi selector in because it would not rotate properly. Come to find out that the LH side selector was on upside down as it came! I took the rh side off, slid it in over the detent and assembled 3 times to find out it wouldn't select properly. Took it out again and found the LH selector was on wrong as it came. Check it when you open it and make sure it's on the right way before trying to install.

All the parts appear to be good quality, but the take down and pivot pin detent slots are to deep and require me to use a razor to even remove the pin to remove my upper. I will be getting new ones to fix this simple error that should not happen.

The package arrived ahead of time so that was great! I only have 1 issue…this is my first build but after breaking down an M-4/M-16 for 21 yrs in the Army, I thought I could handle this. The packaging came with a parts inventory, but each piece was not identified. I had to play a lot of "guess work" to try and figure out what each item was. It would be MUCH more helpful if the packaging identified each piece- maybe a label above each item so amatures, such as myself, can identify which piece is which. Putting the lower together would have gone *much* quicker if it were. I am building a .308 using an AERO Precision Enhanced Upper and Lower so the Takedown and Pivot Pins were also too small and didn't fit. That's not a big deal so I didn't score that. Other than that, this was not a bad install.
