The Super 42 Rifle Length Spring for the M-16/AR-15, brings you the performance and user experience improvement of the Super 42 spring for your rifle length buffer tube. This unique spring design uses three independent strands of wire, that acts as a harmonic damper and energy absorber by allowing the springs to flex separately from each other. This flex helps displace excess energy which decreases the chance of spring failure and assists with making your M-16/AR-15 rifle more reliable while diminishing the twang sound from the butt-stock. The Geissele M-16/AR-15 Super 42 Rifle Length Spring works with a standard rifle length buffer and buffer tube. While springco is great, Geissele buffer springs just come out on top (unless you need something very specifically tuned). Silent and consistent, not much else to ask for.DOES FUNCTION IN A5 STYLE INTERMEDIATE LENGTH RECEIVER EXTENSIONS.

Purchased this to go in my 18" "SPR" type build I put together several years ago. Rifle has a plane jane A2 stock/rifle length tube setup, rifle lenght gas. Rifle has been a sweet shooter since day one…dead-nuts reliable and soft shooting. Only thing that sucked was that A2 twang. Decided to give this a try with some OpticsPlanet bucks I had. Surprised to say it all but eliminated any sound from the stock.

Geissele Super 42 is an amazing product. My action now is smooth as butter and reduced buffer noise considerably. Highly recommend and Optics Planet shipped fast.

Needed to tune the recoil on my SFAR. This spring and new H1 buffer did just that. Caught everything on sale. Very happy with the results.

I think this GA rifle spring is a decent upgrade. Especially on sale… Can’t really grade how quiet it is compared to something like the Sprinco green springs I usually use.. used this with a Geissele URGI near clone 11.5 inch upper and an A5H2 buffer. Changed brass ejection of Hughes precision 5.56 55gr from 3oclock (green spring) to 4oclock unsuppressed. Feels smooth to me.

I put this in a 20inch Aero Precision M16A4 build with a fixed front gas block and a fixed rifle stock. I installed the buffer spring and kept the stock rifle buffer. When I took it to the range to zero, the rifle was very under-gassed. The rifle would extract the fired round but did not have enough gas to put another round in the chamber. The bolt went forward each time and would not lock back on last round. After every round (around 100 all together ), I would have to drop the mag, manually lock the bolt back, insert the mag and hit the release to chamber a new round. Needless to say, I went home and put the original buffer spring back in.
