The Gen 2 Silent Capture Spring I purchased is exactly as described. There is no cheese-grater sound when suppressed, which I appreciate. I am so impressed with Optics Planet's customer service. Their representatives are knowledgeable and easy to work with. They offer fast shipping and easy returns, no questions asked. Being in law enforcement, it is good to know there is such a reliable company like Optics Planet out there, that I can depend on. The reason my purchase of this product is only getting 4 stars is because after telling JP I only needed one spring, I was required to purchase the whole kit. I really didn't need the kit, just the spring.

Just got this last week (Jan. 2024) and although I haven't got to the range yet, it seems much smoother than the milspec system I replaced with it. Dry ran then both a bunch on the kitchen table before and after swapping. Can't wait to get this out there and join the tons of people that highly recommend this.

Bought this with the thought of smoother and reduced recoil on my AR. In reality I don't notice much difference in this versus my old H2 buffer. Yes, there is no spring noise from the buffer tube when firing. My old spring was not very noisy, so for the money I don't think it was worth the money. If your spring is noisy enough to bother you, then go ahead and buy one of these.

This is my second time to write a review, awesome product it really made my gun shoot a bit quieter not more standard buffer spring sounds, did not help wit the recoil. But still recommend this product.
