The Hellfighter Mod Kit is compatible with any AR-10. By changing out your rear take down pin and replacing it with our modified take down pin in combination with a new bolt catch now used as a magazine lock, you will have a completely California Compliant AR. You no longer have to use a Featureless AR solution. Our system will allow you to keep all of your current features, including a pistol grip, a forward grip, and adjustable butt stock. You can even reinstall a mil-spec magazine release. No need for a bullet button. We are proud to introduce the Hellfighter Mod Kit, the perfect, ultra-fast California Compliant magazine lock solution for your AR-10. This comes after a year of engineering and countless attempts to make the best and simplest solution on the market. With this bolt on solution (patent pending), you will be able to perform magazine changes faster than you ever thought possible. One of the features that sets us apart is our modified quick-release take down pin, which acts as a button to separate the upper from the lower just enough to disengage semi-automatic operation and automatically disable the magazine lock. Once your upper is separated and disengaged from semi-automatic operation, your magazine release is now operable. A simple tap closes the upper and re-engages the spring loaded take down pin and will quickly get you back in the fight. Note:Due to the lack of standardization among AR10 variants, some modifications may be required. For use with the Aero Precision M5 lower, a modification would be needed as the part comes with squared edges while the receiver fits a standard DPMS bolt catch that has a rounded bottom edge. Matched well with vr80 gen 2, youtube instructions were useless. at first the hellfighter refused to channel and break down in the vr80 which has a supposed ar10/ar15 design (i know). This is because the vr80 has a screw cap to secure the spring and detent pin, once removed, i put the hellfighter on first, fit the detent pin, fit the spring, put on the buffer plate to keep pressure . Removing the hex spring cap solved the issue. Hellfighter rotates and functions normally. Jt invented the only way to make california bearable, would buy again

Perfect on my vr80. MODIFICATIONS NEEDED! You will need to shave down the detent as its to large, the spring is a bit short to but still works. Only the AR10 juggernaut tactical kit will work on the VR80, the ar15 pin is to small.

The package came quick. I used this to make a ca legal rifle. The kit installed in just a few minutes with the right tools. The kit does not allow the bolt to lock open to the rear after last round. A mag change is quick without learning any special techniques. The rear take down is locked in place and can’t be opened up more than a 1/4” once installed.

The description fails to convey that this is not compatible with Aero M5 Lower. Found this out after ordering and installing. To get the pin needed for Aero a special pin needs to be ordered directly from Juggernaut

Easy to install same as the AR-15 kit, but does not work the same on my .308. The takedown pin works fine to create the needed separation to release the magazine, but I have to close the separation of upper and lower and manually push the pin back in place to secure everything. My AR-15 kits are spring assisted and only need to push down the upper and "click" work as described. Not sure if I need to make adjustments to any joining surfaces or detent spring tension to allow to function as designed.

I recently purchased a JT CA compliant mag lock kit from Optics Planet for my AR10 build. I previously put one on an AR15. That was my first build, and even with my limited experience it was easy to install. It's also easy to use and allows relativey quick magazine changes for those of us living under restrictive CA gun laws. Just push the JR button, which allows the upper and lower receivers to seperate slighty (satisfying the CA law). The drop the mag, click the receivers back together, and your good to put in a new mag. The price was right and free shipping from OP is always good. Plus with all the Optics Planet bucks I aquired when ordering parts I was able to pick up a Lancer Viper Muzzle Break for a fraction of the cost.
