However, these pins are NOT designed to be exact copies of the originals, and WILL NOT fit the DPMS GII .308 series rifles. These pins are machined from a low-friction stainless steel with a hardened extension plunger tip, and simply push down to retract the stainless steel detents for easy pin removal. The KNS Precision DPMS Pin is black oxide finished to resist wear and corrosion. The .308 standard takedown pin slot points down and creates a flat spot whereas the round KNS eliminates the spring and detent and provides full support. The KNS DPMS-308-PBTD pin fits Aero Precision Receivers much better than the undersized pins in the AP LPK. The KNS removes easily once you get the hang of it. All my Aero 308 builds have the KNS Takedown pins because they slow receiver wear and are very well made.
