The KynSHOT RB5005 Recoil Buffer is designed for AR-10 carbines with a collapsible stock that use the standard AR-10 length tubes that are 7.75″ deep on the inside. The RB5005 reduces felt recoil 20-30%, while largely eliminating muzzle flip. The improvement in weapon accuracy – specifically second and third shot accuracy – is even more noticeable as shooters report that their time to reacquire a target decreases, and in many cases never leaves their scope sights. This buffer has patented damping technology to absorb the shock of impact from the bolt carrier’s rearward motion and to prevent bolt bounce as a new cartridge is chambered. “This buffer requires a buffer tube with an internal length of at least 7.75 inches. As many tubes are only 7 inches in length, this must be checked before installation.” Shop all of our Hydraulic Buffers today! I installed this buffer for use with a piston driven AR-15 upper. I was skeptical when I purchased this buffer but it only took one mag to feel what this buffer can do. It does an amazing job at smoothing the recoil impulse. Keeping the sights on target became a breeze in rapid fire. I do not have a hi round count yet to see how the hydraulic mechanism holds up but for now it is worth every dime. This buffer weighs right at an H-2 in weight. It is listed for use in AR-10 with collapsible stock but it is the same length as a standard carbine buffer for use in the Ar-15 platform.

Super easy to install, direct replacement. Honestly, I was little upset about recoil of my AR10 .308, but after I install this buffer to my rifle, it’s became from “meat tenderizer”to “Hello Kitty” instantly. Absolutely recommended.

I have, lets just say more than one AR. I have 2 of these. I ran this with a flatwire Spring VS. An Armaspec sound mitigation buffer system VS. Old school buffer and spring. Standard Buffer was your standard .308 Bump. The Armaspec device was a little bump soaked into a push. The Kynshot eliminated almost all the bump and made it more of an equaled out press on the shoulder. I let other .308 shooters try it out and they were extremely suprised. (Note, be sure of the length of your buffer and tube. Install with same length buffer already installed. 3.25 inch in AR-10 style carbine tubes. 2.50 inch in .308 with M4/ AR-15 carbine tubes.

I tried this RB5005 in my 308 mp10 with a 18" barrel. I found that this buffer would not operate consistently and would prevent the bolt from properly feeding rounds. Basically short stoked. It would also not consistently lock the bolt back on an empty mag. Lastly I reached out to Kynshot and they never responded. For that I would not recommend the brand or product.

Works great and really reduces recoil but please be mindful of the different models. The RB5005 is for carbine length systems (16in barrel) and RB5006 is for the rifle length systems (18in barrel & up). There's 2 reviews here that were negative because they bought the wrong one, which will cause malfunctions with feeding rounds.

This device showed Zero recoil reduction and caused my brass to get severe dents on the back from the ejection pins and fails to lock my bolt back on empty mag.
