I wish I'd had this available before I purchased the Sig Sauer Ambi Mag Catch because this works more efficiently and with less effort than the Sig version. While similar, the UTG is actually more "extended," making the ergonomics brilliantly smooth with flawless operation. The right side has the option of the either standard mil-spec button you're used to, or an extension tab that screws onto the button, all without having to pay extra! While Sig is good, this is much better, IMHO.The only possible knock on this would be that, because of the thickness, I find it does SLIGHTLY interfere with the small, mil-spec bolt catch button. This becomes a non-issue after a little practice because the functionality grossly outweighs this issue and is easily solved with a Strike Industries Bolt Catch.Whether you're a right or left handed shooter, this really is one of the best functioning and most affordable mag releases out there- you'll NOT be disappointed

Definitely an anodized blue color. It is a little bit tricky to install due to it having a very stiff spring. If you like the tension of your old magazine release, then I would suggest using the spring of the old magazine release. Definitely love the style, color, and functionality. FYI if you are building a brand new lower receiver you might want to install this after you install the trigger (since the latches will overlap on the foward trigger pin), and before you do the bolt catch ( the latch snaggs on the bottom of the bolt latch when tightening.

In my upper the big RH hexagon button has a tendency to wobble and the magazine retention arm tends to want to lean in pretty strongly, but I think this is because of my lower receiver maybe not being made to the tightest tolerances.Overall I like this quite a bit and it functions well, just note that the left hand control and the right button have different "push depths." You can really push the RH button quite an extra amount, while the LH button you always push completely (which isn't super far) and it's always just far enough to let the magazine out. That said, I find the location of the LH control very convenient as LH shooter.
P.s. –
Does not hold several of our mags that have no issues with stock catch/release. Attemped to slightly bend to protrude more into mag well and cast material snapped right off. I am dissatisfied with this product for a custom build part.

I love this thing. It's the best ambi mag release I've tried to date. The lever works great and makes it so much easier to actuate and drop the mags free. The only issue I ran into is it doesn't play nice with the Geissele maritime bolt catch, since the larger bolt catch will run into the lever on the Leapers. Works fantastic with other bolt catches though. I also chose not to put the face plate on the right side mag release because I thought it was a bit much, but that's personal preference. I'll definitely buy another one of these.

Works perfect, looks ok, feels solid, does work with extended bolt catch too. Only gripe is the small Allen heads stripped out on the RH mag button. I did 80% lower and had to sand a little out of the hole but the fit is perfect. Another bad thing is you'll like it so much and get used to it you'll have to buy them for every AR
