I like the extended lip and price. Mine is all black with some branding text engraved by the position holes. There is no white lettering as others have complained about.Purchased this to put under my PRS stock.Installation to lower was fine no issues. I did notice that i will need to slightly sand my PRS stock adapter to get it to fit. For those familiar, the Gen3 PRS stocks come with a carbine buffer tube adapter but relies on running a plain jane milspec castle nut. I am running a PWS castle nut that includes a QD sling point. This feature creates a slight gap between lower and stock.I did not dock any stars from the buffer review as my fit issue is due to my stock choice and castle nut preference.Overall it is a solid buffer tube choice. I would buy again.

As a few earlier reviews stated, POF doesn’t put the white branding on the tube anymore, it’s a subtle redlined cut on the bottom of the tube. A must have for piston guns, a nice peace of mind for gas guns. I’ll be buying more soon. Fit, finish and overall craftsmanship were excellent.

I built my own P415 lower using a SilencerCo SCO15 lower and it turned out great. I needed this tube to ensure the bolt carrier group wouldn’t tilt and scrape against the rim of the tube while cycling. It does what it’s supposed to do

Inside is as smooth as glass, very nice machuning all around

I use these for all of my builds. They are expertly machined to completely cover the threads on the inside of the receiver, and fully support the carrier assembly in travel, while still allowing the separation of the upper and lower. It has drain holes in the end and in the stock adjustment pockets. It is beautifully finished with a subdued, black logo underneath, not an ugly white or other color logo like some manufacturers. If you are looking for the absolute best M4 style receiver extension/buffer tube, this is it.

This tube is really good stuff. Relatively light at 3.7 oz, and has the anti-carrier-tilt lips on it, which also serve to lock the tube in place with the buffer retaining pin. So even if your castle nut comes loose, the tube won't back out, which is (IMHO) a great feature. At the time I bought this, this was the least expensive option for a anti-tilt/locking 7075 buffer tube. The only two items I'd say might make you not want to buy it are:1) They painted a bright white POF-USA logo on it that is highly visible when the stock is extended. I would have preferred matte black everywhere and the logo to be either hidden by the stock, or at least placed so it wasn't so prominent.2) As of today, Aero Precision makes their "Enhanced" buffer tube that sells for about $8 less than the POF, that is spec-wise more/less identical to this one (anti-tilt/locking lips, 7075, very well made) and doesn't have the gaudy logo on it (though it does weigh 3.9oz vs 3.7 for this one, if you are watching your weight). I have one of the Aero tubes also, and I prefer it to this one due to the logo thing I noted above and being a few dollars cheaper. However, the Aero enhanced tube is out of stock everywhere about 90% of the time, so you're likely to wait about a month or so on back-order if you want that one.Honorable mentions for competition to this tube:2A Armament also makes a competitor to this stock, which in fit/finish is superior (2a turns out top shelf stuff for fit and finish!), and it is .3oz lighter than the POF to boot, and is priced about the same as the POF one. However, the 2A tube is made out of 6061 aluminum instead of 7075. 2A states this is because they can machine better fit/finish with 6061, and that in their destructive testing, they found that 6061 (softer aluminum than 7075) tends bend and flex when abused, where 7075 (harder stuff) will usually crack and fail spectacularly under abuse. In fairness, unless you're using your rifle for a club after you run out of ammo during the zombie apocalypse, I doubt you'll ever notice or care between 7075 and 6061, but over at AR15.com "everyone says" 7075 is preferred.PWS makes a ultra-light tube that likewise is similar to this one, that I am told is fantastic (I don't own one/never seen one in person). However, PWS in their wisdom, wont' sell you just the tube, you have to buy it as a kit with their proprietary (and heavy) castle nut and end plate setup, which pushes the price up to near double what these competing tubes cost (which is why I don't own one).Strike Industries also makes a similar-ish tube for about the same price, also in 7075, and if you like sculpted work-of-art type tubes, you might prefer. I have read that the sculpting cuts on the SI tube can make some stocks fit looser, so I'm a no for the SI one, but other than that possible issue – it looks really (really) nice.JE Machine also makes a 6061 tube with anti-tilt/locking lips, that like the Strike Industries version, is sculpted/scalloped. It is by far the least expensive of the lot ($25 last time I looked), but it's 6061 and it's got sculpting cuts that might make some stocks fit rather poorly. So there you ave it – POF makes a nice tube for a very reasonable price, and you can usually find it in stock. As long as you don't mind the logo placement and visibility, I expect you'd be pretty happy with this tube.Hope this helps.
