This is an excellent buffer tube system: stiff, lightweight, and an innovative design. Comes with an end plate with QD mount and castle nut that lock in place without staking. Very easy to install. Mine arrived from Optics Planet without the end plate in a slightly opened plastic pack. I emailed Primary Weapons Systems, received a response within a few hours, and they shipped a replacement that arrived with 72 hours. Excellent customer service.

The buffer tube is fantastic. If you have a piston system on a AR platform then this buffer tube is worth the money. Even though carrier tilt isn't much of a concern with pws rifles, it's still worth having this buffer tube just for the extra piece of mind. Now, if you feel like you have absolutely no reason to have this buffer tube, which looks amazing too, do yourself a favor and at least get the ratcheting castle nut and qd end plate combo. That is most definitely worth having on every single AR. I have it on a couple myself and I'm working on replacing all of my cattle nuts with these. Never having to worry about the castle nut backing off (which admittedly isn't the biggest concern anyway honestly. But, again, it's just for extra piece of mind), and without having to do any staking for that piece of mind is wonderful. And it looks great. And you get a qd mount. So whether or not you get the kit with the buffer tube (which I recommend because it looks great, if nothing else) or just get the castle nut and end plate combo, just do yourself a favor and get one or the other for your AR platforms.

I had initially bought this preemptively at the same time as placing my order for an LWRIC, only to realize the lower already had a raised lip built in (unique design, kudos to LWRIC). So this sat on a shelf until just recently when I decided I had enough spare parts to do another hobby build. Precision, quality, durable, yet elegant are just a few words that initially come to mind. The coating is not as smooth as I would have thought it would have been (from the photos), but the channel cuts seem to help even the most stubborn stocks slide more easily. As for the ratcheting castle nut system, I didn't think I was going to like it and kinda had other plans anyways but figured to give it a fair try and do not regret it. I actually love the look! …and the design, I don't know what else to say, except maybe Titanium options?!?!I would have listed the price of this as a "Con" but frankly it is worth the price! But seriously, consider offering this in Titanium, even if it's just the ratcheting castle nut system.

I wanted to try the ratcheting castle nut/end plate design so just ordered the kit with buffer tube.Really glad I did. All components are excellent. Well made, solid finish, easy to install. The buffer tube is "engraved" stamped with the various positions, lightweight design and the fluting just looks nice. Anti-tilt design seats the buffer tube lip around the buffer retaining pin.Not having to stake a castle nut is awesome. Ratchets onto the end plate and can be removed if necessary.Still uses the same castle nut wrench, no special/proprietary tools needed. The QD sling swivel socket in the rear is great and very useful as it allows both lefties and righties to use a sling there without any reconfiguring or having "extra" snag points.I put mine on a CWAR build I have been working on, using the Kaiser US polymer receiver set.Love it. Plan to get the same kit for any other future builds I do, which is at least 2 more right now.Even if you don't want/get their buffer tube, the ratcheting endplate/castle nut can be bought separately and used with any mil spec receiver/buffer tube setup.Pricey but I think it is well worth it for a quality product with thoughtful, innovative design.

What I like most about this style of buffer tube is that it supports the BCG all the way through its movement. From battery to hold open, the bolt carrier doesn't move, which reduces some of the failures associated with broken buffer retainers. The bolt will tip down slightly when cycling, which chews away at the little nub on retainers. That can break off, fall into the FCG and prevent the rifle from working. The enhanced buffer tube also reduces wear on both the buffer and the bolt carrier. Good buy for any rifle.

good item if you want to upgrade your m4 style lower, this is a lighter better tube that can be used for piston uppers plus it has a lower lip that will eliminate carrier tilt wear in the buffer tube.
