I had a difficult time getting the castle nut past the first few threads. I was also using a castle nut with cerakote along with this buffer tube in OD green, so I am unsure if it was the combination of these factors that made it more difficult or just one of the two parts being slightly out of spec. After some hard turning of the castle nut wrench everything was good to go. The buttstock slid out without an issue.

Either I received the wrong item in FDE instead of the Burnt Bronze color I ordered or Timber creek has color blind quality control personnel. I compared it to my other Burnt bronze items and this thing doesn’t match any, not even close! Very disappointed.

I was a little hesitant to try this tube based on some reviews that described a rough inside surface. I purchased this in 2021 and Timber Creek has smoothed the inside of the tube after the coating process, so all I had to do was wipe the cerakote dust out of the tube and I had a very smooth inside surface. No issues with thread fit on a cerakote receiver. Color matches Magpul FDE. Buttstock fits tube as expected. End of tube is notched for centering over buffer stop. I would recommend to anyone looking for an FDE milspec buffer tube.

The OD green matched perfectly with my Magpul buttstock and pistol grip. I'm not sure why anybody would pay more for a receiver extension this thing is perfect it has the notch for the buffer tube stop, and it matched up to my palmetto State low receiver perfectly. The next time I need a buffer tube extension I'll go to timber Creek, why pay More.
