No screws or threading to come loose or strip; utilizes stainless steel detent plungers to lock levers into place. The traditional lever side has been built for a more positive feel. Right side features a lower profile lever and will not interfere with trigger operation for right handed shooters. Rugged machined billet tool steel construction. Black. I've installed plenty of these on different builds, including some of my own. They are easy to install and uninstall. The right side being shorter is nice because it won't make contact and rub your trigger finger during heavy shooting. I saw someone else trash talk this safety in the reviews, well I don't know how they made this thing fail, I've dealt with 25+ with no issue so far.

The example I received does not exactly match the picture on Optics Planet's website (as of 15 Apr 2019), which does not bother me, because I had seen these safeties before and got what I expected. The main difference between picture and reality is the texture on the levers. The primary lever (left side of receiver, for right-handed shooters) looks and feels almost identical to a standard, mil-spec safety lever, which suits me just fine. The mini-lever for the right side of receiver is approximately the same profile as in the picture, but the nub is stepped not domed—which I would say offers better purchase for manipulation anyway. The safety did not come with the detent or spring, which is kind of a miss at this price-point; you'll have to re-use your old ones (assuming you are upgrading an existing assembly) or buy those parts separately for a new build. It is also worth noting that I tried using a Radian Talon in 45-degree alignment with a Geissele G2S trigger, and it did not function correctly—in fire mode there was still some interference between the safety and the trigger group. I had this Troy part on hand for another build, so decided to try it, and it works 100% with the Geissele trigger. Now my only problem is I need to buy another.

I will start by saying that I have been a fan of Troy products for years. This product however is very disappointing. The fit is perfect but not the selector advertised in the photo. The only problem is, it doesn't function with a single one of my ARs. I have multiple ARs, each with a different trigger. From stock trigger to drop in trigger assemblies. The safety would not function in any of them. After troubleshooting for a while I discovered that the triggers would not function with the selector in the 45 degree position. They did however function with the selector in the 90 degree position after removing the detent and spring from the lower receiver. I guess I will go back to the Armaspec 45 degree selector. That seems to work perfectly on my PSA. Sorry Troy!

Poor quality and poor design. It fell apart with in 10 minutes of installation and I put it together on my couch. Certainly will not be reliable while at the range or if my life depended on it. Ended up trashing it.
