The XTS Castle Nut works with the XTS Carbine action and incorporates the Vipper Muzzle Brake. A simple press of the Vipper in combination with the steel Castle Nut forms a fully functional muzzle brake. Vippers have been used in military sniper rifles for decades. The combination of the muzzle brake and a properly fitted castle nut keeps the muzzle brake and barrel in place, making it difficult to remove. XTS machined the castle nut from heat treated steel alloy and it is MIL-STD Manganese Plown. It can be re-installed in seconds using the provided heat wrenches. Didn't think much of it when making this purchase, as I was just trying to be cheap and buy what was in stock during the COVID/Social Unjust/Election year BS. I didn't realise it was aluminum or I would have passed on the purchase. Did not hold up well to being torqued to my endplate, got dinged up very easily.

this one was cheaper than most other collars so I took the chance. seems to be of good qualityand has the cutout for staking it if you are into that. as long as the specs are right it should work fine.

Well, it’s a castle nut, not much can be said other than it works and the fit and finish were good. Lost one somewhere along the way so I just picked the cheapest one available since it can always be returned free freight.

For the price of this castle nut it worked fine on my buffer tube with no slop in the threads. Mine did not have staking slots in it and the material was not aluminum but steel. Torked down fine at 30 ft/lbs with no problem or marks from my wrench.

Good stuff i see no problems simebody said this castle nut was aluminium but that is incorectemundo…I have a aero precision lower and i need the 2 threaded pins and i think aero should sell them but they dont .Not evan in complete lpk . not cool

The one I received did not have detents on it for staking, despite what the product picture shows. Everything else was fine. The threads mated easily with the buffer tube and it torqued down just like any other castle nut.
