Was having failure to eject issues on a new .308 I built. Changed out the buffer and spring from the one that came with the complete lower I order and this combo fixed the problem. Haven’t had a problem since and have run about 500 rounds through the rifle.

great product, was short some of the Rubber spacers, e mailed them and they sent them right out. Very good quality havent used in my build yet, going into AR .308 with an ergo pro 93 stock cant wait !

Was having problems with feed and ejection as well as, when it did eject, spitting the brass straight ahead- 12:00 on the nose. Pulled my original buffer, loaded Odin with steel and tungsten, took 'er out back. The results: Three mag dumps with ZERO issues. Perfect cycling and brass spitting out at 3:00 sharp. One sore shoulder later I'm good to go.Quality product- well made, well packed, good info on the back of the package. Well-worth the price- you can tell it is a quality product as soon as you hold it in your hand. I wish all bugs were this easy to resolve. Thanks Odin and Optics Planet!-EricMichigan

I suffered the same fate as many other people have, assembling an AR10/DPMS/LR308. I bought a carbine buffer tube labelled "308 buffer tube". That 308 buffer was the same as a standard AR15 carbine buffer. So after putting all the parts together I went down to the range and was heartbroken that my AR10/DPMS/LR308 was having so many issues with failures to feed, failures to eject and double feeds. I soon found out that I needed not only a shorter buffer but a heavier one too. I purchased the Odin Works AR-10 Adjustable buffer plus an extra tungsten weight just in case. I started with the heaviest weight possible and stuck with that. Maybe I could fine tune it, but I now have none of the previous problems, the gun shoots reliably. Time to spend more money on another project.

This buffer fixed a cycling issue I was having in my AR 10 pattern rifle. Most large frame buffers lean toward the heavy side but you have few options when you need a lighter buffer, this product can help you there. Moreover, you have the option to install three tungsten weights if you wish to go toward the heavier side (purchase from Odin Works). It also gives you the capability to tune your gas system when adjustable gas systems are not possible or desired. I used this in a rifle length buffer tube with no issues. My advice is to add this to your build list.

First, the Odin AR-10 adjustable buffer is the correct length — 2.5” — if you are using a standard AR-15 Carbine buffer tube (interior length ~6 15/16”). Much of the time when an AR .308 Carbine has cycling issues, it is due to using the wrong buffer and/or spring. If your build uses a standard AR-15 Carbine buffer tube (receiver extension), you cannot use an AR-15 Carbine buffer; it is too long to allow for the additional travel distance of the longer .308 BCG. Given the necessary shorter length of the buffer, there is a smaller window of flexibility in the buffer and spring that will result in reliable function; the adjustable weight of this buffer can save you a lot of time — and headaches — getting your build dialed-in. The only improvement that I would like to see from Odin is to offer this buffer with two tungsten weights, making the total max weight 5.5 oz. It comes with one each of aluminum, steel and tungsten (it can use any combination of two weights) for a range of 3.04 – 4.68 oz.You can of course buy additional tungsten weights; I happened to have an extra tungsten weight that came with the AR-15 version of this buffer that I did not use on my M4E1 build. Obviously I liked the AR-15 Carbine Odin adjustable buffer so much that when it came time to buy the parts for my .308 Carbine, I chose the Odin AR-10 adjustable buffer. A repeat customer is probably the best endorsement a product can have.
